The committee had invited 2 children – Eldad and Chen (a boy and girl, both eleven years old) - and Vered, their guardian, who participate in the Afula Youth Futures programme sponsored by the Women’s Division of Geneva.

Nadia Braunschweig described the emotion that had gripped her on the occasion of her visit to Afula.
Then Vered explained why the Youth Futures project is essential for the children who benefit from it, and the extent to which our support is so vital. She impressed upon us the fact that each donation, added to others, results in making all the difference to their lives.

The President of the Women's Division of Geneva, Aviva Panush Bendrihem, then read a letter written by Eldad’s mother, which aroused great emotion in all of the women present. In her letter, his mother, Anie, thanked each donor, not only for the fact that thanks to our committee her son had the opportunity to live the normal life of a boy his age, but also for creating the conditions that enabled her, his mother, to provide a normal life for her son, like any other parent in the world.
Then Chen and Eldad spoke. They told us that since participating in this program, they feel quite different and have a greater sense of security and of being at home.

All the mothers present were extremely touched by these statements and expressed a desire to have further discussions in private with both the children and Vered.
While Ched and Eldad distributed bookmarks that they and their friends had made, a collection was carried out with great enthusiasm.
This memorable day ended with a visit by the children to the Natural History Museum.
The direct links forged between us will remain forever in our hearts and in the hearts of the children. They now know that they can count on us and we know that we can be confident about their future that can be translated into four words:
AM ECHAD,
LEV ECHAD.
