Mr. and Ms. Samson have been nominated for the 2012 Yakir Award in appreciation of their long-standing and devoted service and leadership to Keren Hayesod and the Jewish community of South Africa, and in confidence that they will continue with their valuable contribution for many years to come. Sheila and Eric have epitomized the highest level of commitment and Zionism by making Aliya to Israel in the beginning of 2009 and reestablishing their business, as well as their philanthropic activities in Israel through their significant involvement with Keren Hayesod.

Their love and generosity, the personal concern they show for the welfare of the Jewish people, their leadership and philanthropic deeds make them two of the most dynamic Jewish leaders in the world today, an example for others to follow.
The Yakir Keren Hayesod Award was bestowed on Mr. and Mrs. Samson by the Prime Minister of Israel, Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu, in Jerusalem, on April 4th, 2012.
