What We Do
Keren Hayesod - UIA, in partnership with the global Jewish community, works to further the national priorities of the State of Israel and Israeli society, with special emphasis on advancing weaker communities;  nurturing disadvantaged and marginalized youth; encouraging aliyah; implementing rescue operations; and connecting young Diaspora Jews to Israel and Jewish life.

Advancing weaker communities and border towns
Promoting aliyah and integration of olim

Together with our partner, the Jewish Agency for Israel, Keren Hayesod – UIA provides a wide range of programs that have proven successful in breaking cycles of poverty and providing opportunity for individuals to fulfill their personal potential and benefit Israel as productive members of mainstream society. A high proportion of our beneficiaries are new immigrants or children of new immigrants who have made aliyah from countries of distress. They include elderly olim without means, many of whom are Holocaust survivors.

Reaching the hearts and minds of young Diaspora Jews

Engaging the younger generation with Israel and the Jewish people is the key to future Jewish leadership and our future as a people. Keren Hayesod – UIA donors help hundreds of thousands of young Diaspora Jews understand the heart of Israel and the Jewish people through long-term Israel programs and informal education.

Programs of national priority, in collaboration with the Prime Minister of Israel

The Prime Minister of Israel recently requested the partnership of Keren Hayesod – UIA donors to help to meet the major strategic challenges facing Israel and world Jewry today. These include many areas which KH-UIA is already deeply committed to, together with new areas and directions critical to Israel and the Jewish people.

New directions:

One major new project is the renovation of Israel's national heritage sites, intended to create public awareness of the deep historical and cultural connection between the Jewish people and Israel. This program will constitute an effective tool for countering the rising delegitimization of Israel. Another critical project is the development of efficient alternative energy which will stand to benefit Israel economically and technologically and is intended to help reduce world dependence on oil and oil producing countries that seek Israel's demise.
Keren Hayesod – UIA programs and projects are adapted and changed to meet the changing needs of contemporary Israel and the Jewish world. They are designed to provide social, cultural and educational frameworks that ultimately spur growth and expand horizons for Israel and the Jewish people.
