SAVING LIFES IN THE PERIPHERY
KhUia_MainDescription
WHY HOSPITALS IN THE PERIPHERY?
Israel’s peripheral regions of the Negev and Galilee are home to close to 30% of the country's population
Distances to the center of the country are far, public transportation is infrequent, and large numbers of people in these economically depressed areas do not own private vehicles
They are volatile areas that have suffered for decades from terror attacks and missile strikes from across the border, increasing the medical needs of the region
WHY IS IT NECESSARY TO SUPPORT HOSPITALS IN THE PERIPHERY?
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Keren Hayesod works with hospitals in Safed, Tiberias, Hadera, Afula, the Sharon area, Haifa, Beer Sheva, and other locations in the periphery to raise funds for needed medical facilities and projects
Keren Hayesod is working with the Government of Israel to develop a concerted plan to upgrade hospitals in the periphery
WHOM DO THEY HELP?
Two million Jews, Arabs, Christians, Druze, Bedouin, and Circassians as well as IDF soldiers, and UN troops
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Keren Hayesod is currently supporting projects at various hospitals in the periphery. These include the Soroka Medical Center in Beer Sheva (Genetic Laboratory, IVF Unit, Obstetrics and Gynecology Auditorium, the Sieff Medical Center in Safed (Autism Clinic Operating Theatre), the Poriya Medical Center near Tiberias (Oncology Institute), and others.
